The opposition National Democratic Parliamentary Candidate in the Akatsi South Constituency in the Volta Region, Hon. Bernard Ahiafor has issued a statement officially congratulating the Paramount chief of Avenor Traditional Councel.
“May the good Lord and the god’s of the land continue to bless you for making me, the Avenor land and the Traditional Councel proud again,” He stated.
The Paramount Chief of Anfoega Traditional Area within the North Dayi District of the Volta Region, Togbe Tepre Hodo IV has defeated the paramount chief of Anlo State, Togbe Sri III in the just-held 19th election of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs.
Out of a total of 52 votes, Togbe Tepre, who was the Vice-President to the then-Soglo Alloh IV (now part of Oti) polled 34 votes and Togbe Sri got 18 votes.
Togbe Tepre Hodo IV, thus, becomes the new President of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs.

Torgbuigah Dorglo Anumah VI has once again lifted the humble flag of Avenor high. His election as part of the 5-member representatives of the Volta region at the National House of Chiefs speaks volume and needs to be celebrated by all sons and daughters of Avenor. At least, Avenor for the first time has gotten a national recognition and a special position at the National House of Chiefs. This and other developments we must all yearn for.
