The Omanhene of Enyan Abaasa Traditional Area in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region, Osagyefo Kwame Akonu (X) has entreated his people to ensure proper sanitation around their homes and business areas to avoid contracting diseases.
Addressing his community today through a local Information Center in the town concerning the Covid-19 pandemic and other developmental issues in Abaasaman as a whole, the Omanhane said the covid-19 pandemic has received so much attention that people are now neglecting other equally important diseases and sicknesses issues that could affect them.
He appealed to his community “to ensure proper sanitation and do not fight covid-19 alone, but fight such diseases as cholera by keeping your compounds clean through weeding, draining stagnant waters, and burning rubbish to prevent mosquitoes from breeding around their homes.”
According to the respected traditional ruler, as the President of the Republic speaks to the nation in general in connection with issues relating to the covid-19 pandemic, it is necessary for him as a traditional leader to also educate his people concerning the observance of the laid down protocols in the covid-19 fight, including proper use of nose masks, washing of hands, using of hand sanitizer, and above all social distancing.
Osagyefo Kwame Akonu X in an interview with PoliticsAfrika’s Nana Adwoa Gyasiwa after his address advised students who are now at home to follow E-learning on both television and nnline tuition to get access to their studies. He also asked them to “help their parents in their farming activities whilst they are at home.”
“Modern biogas toilets are now the acceptable places of convenience across the country and I entreat you, especially those who are not having toilet facilities in your homes, to consider use it getting one” he added. “Enyan Abaasa is a beautiful place so I am asking you to keep it clean to be more beautiful to entertain more visitors” he reiterated.
