Ahead of the party’s 2020 parliamentary primaries scheduled for tomorrow Saturday, June 20, 2020, some Women Organizers of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have received accouterments from the party to kick start operations.
According to the party’s National Women’s Organizer, Kate Gyamfua, the gesture is to encourage the women in the party to work hard in their respective areas especially where the party has sitting Members of Parliament (MPs).
“We in the women’s wing are ready to support Nana Addo to win a second term in office because we believe his work speaks to a resolve to make Ghana a highly prosperous country”, Madam Kate Abena Gyamfua said after presenting Wellington boots, bales of clothing and washing items to the 47 women organisers and their deputies in the Ashanti Region.
Speaking to journalists, Madam Gyamfua also urged all the women group in the party to work in unity so as to ensure they wage a better campaign aimed at maximising the votes of the party’s flag-bearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and its parliamentary candidates.
According to MyNewsGh.com reporters, places visited by the National Women Organiser and the Ashanti Regional Women Organizer of the party are
Ejisu, Effiduase and Juaben Constituency all in the Ashanti Region.
The NPP is holding its primaries in constituencies with sitting MPs tomorrow ahead of the 2020 polls.
Most constituencies within the Ashanti Region will not take part in the contest as candidates are expected to run unopposed and therefore there will be what the party described as popular acclamation.
There is however fierce competition in some of the areas including Batama where the incumbent Okyem Aboagye is being given a run for his money by Deputy of Staff Francis Asenso-Boakye.
